Significant traffic restrictions during Riga City Festival

There will be significant traffic restrictions in the streets of the city centre. From August 16th, 5:00 until August 20th, 15:00 all traffic will be prohibited on 11. novembra krastmala in the section between Akmens Bridge and Muitas Street (including trishaw, electromobile and horse cart traffic).

From August 16th, 5:00 until August 20th, 15:00 the street parallel to 11.novembra krastmala, the section between Jauniela and Poļu gāte, and Bīskapa gāte will be closed to traffic (including trishaw, electromobile and horse cart traffic);

​On August 18th, from 7:00 to 20:00 traffic will also be prohibited on Eksporta Street, the section between Elizabetes Street and Muitas Street (except for vehicles going to and from the Riga Passenger Port).​​

From August 16th, 9:00 until August 19th, 20:00 traffic will also be closed on AB Dambis, but from August 18th, 5:00 until August 19th, 20:00 at Reformācijas Square by St. Peter’s Church, from the side of Kungu Street (except for people residing at 2 Kaļķu Street, 11 Grēcinieku Street and 7 Skārņu Street).

​In addition, on August 18th, from 21:00 to 24:00 the turnaround on 11. novembra krastmala in the direction of Kaļķu Street will be closed, but on August 17th, from 17:00 to 23:00 traffic will be closed on Ata Street between 5 Ata Street and Jāņa Asara Street (except for access to the companies (located in the closed section of Ata Street) by company vehicles).

​​From August 16th, 5:00 until August 20th, 15:00 two-way traffic will be organised on Pils Street, the section between Poļu gāte and Dome Square, and on Dome Square, the section between Pils Street and Jēkaba Street.

​​On August 18th, from 23:00 to 23:15 traffic could be restricted or prohibited, if necessary (except for public transport traffic):

  • ​​on 13. janvāra Street, the section between Raiņa bulvāris and 11. novembra krastmala;
  • on 11. novembra krastmala, the section between 13. janvāra Street and Akmens Bridge;
  • on Uzvaras bulvāris, the section between Valguma Street and Akmens Bridge; on Akmens Bridge.

​Pedestrian traffic will be closed from August 16th, 9.00 until August 19th, 20.00 on AB dambis.

​​Vehicle traffic will be organised on Pils Street, the section between Miesnieka Street and Dome Square.

​​Moreover, from August 15th, 20:00 until August 20th, 15:00 stopping and parking of vehicles will be prohibited on 11. novembra krastmala the section between Akmens Bridge and Muitas Street, on the street parallel to 11. novembra krastmala, the section between Jauniela and Poļu gāte, and on Bīskapa gate.

​​Also prohibited will be the stopping and parking of vehicles on Kaļķu Street, the section between 11. novembra krastmala and Rātslaukums (RTU parking lot) from August 17th, 20:00 until August 19th, 23:00.

​​Restrictions have also been issued regarding Maskavas Street, the section between 8 Maskavas Street and 12 Maskavas Street (on the right side), on August 18th, from 8:00 to 23:00 and the square by Riga Congress Hall from August 17th, 7:00 until August 20th, 22:00, as well as the road to Spilve Airport on August 18th, from 11:00 to 18:00

​​From August 15th, 10.00 until August 19, 20.00 water traffic will be restricted for all types of watercrafts in the Daugava Aquatorium between Vanšu Bridge and Akmens Bridge.

​​On August 18th, from 12.00 to 18.00 the presence of all types of watercrafts and water traffic for all types of watercrafts will be prohibited in the City Canal, the section between the Freeport of Riga Authority building and Latvian National Theatre; on August 19th, from 13:00 to 19:00 the presence of all types of watercrafts and water traffic for all types of watercrafts will be prohibited in the City Canal, the section between Bastejkalns and Latvian National Opera House; from August 18th, 21:00 until August 19th, 1:00 water traffic of all types of watercrafts in the Daugava Aquatorium between Akmens Bridge and Vanšu Bridge will be restricted. Watercrafts with quays in the section between Akmens Bridge and Vanšu Bridge have to remain immobile in their quays.

​​From August 17th to August 19th during the Riga City Festival’s events trishaw, beer bicycle and horse cart traffic will be prohibited in Old Riga and at 11. novembra krastmala.​​
