We invite you to experience world class jazz during Riga City Festival on Miera Street! On August 19th beginning at 16:00, we invite all to come and listen to the world’s rhythms and music until 22:30, when a great jazz trio under the leadership of Kristaps Vanadziņš will close out the evening. 

Festival “Miera Street Jazz Week” August 19th program:

• 16.00 – 17.00 workshop “Get to know Jazz” at Miera Street 17 courtyard. An interactive event for children led by Andris Jeziks.
• 18.00 – 19.00 “Toms Rudzinskis Quartet” concert at Miera Street 17 courtyard. Toms Rudzinskis represents the young Latvian jazz performer’s and composer’s generation and is one of the most innovative jazz saxophone players of Latvia.  
• 19.30 – 20.30 “Matīss Čudars and Liudas Mockūnas” concert at the Art and Music Gallery-café “DAD café” at Miera Street 17. 

Matīss Čudars in Latvia is known as an eclectic and intercontinental artist. He has studied and played in Amsterdam and Berlin, and is the first place winner of “Jazz Guitar” category in “Riga Jazz Stage 2017”. Liudas Mockūnas is one of the most requested and recognizable Lithuanian improvisation musicians; he plays the saxophone (soprano, tenor, and bass) and the clarinet. 

• 20.00 – 20.45 “Julie Silvera Quartet” concert at Miera Street 17 courtyard. 

Julie Silvera began her music career with a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance and a master’s degree in Choral Conducting at Washington State University. She received her doctorate from the prestigious University of Miami Studio Music and Jazz programme. Julie Silvera has performed with George Benson, Gloria Estefan, Quincy Jones and other great artists. 

• 21.30 – 22.30 “Kristaps Vanadziņš Trio” concert at the Art and Music Gallery-café “DAD café” at Miera Street 17. The Trio was created in 2008 and is comprised of Kristaps Vanadziņš, piano; Edvīns Ozons, base; and Rūdolfs Dankfelds on drums. 
• 21.15 – 22.00 “Riču Raču” (Jānis Ruņģis and Matīss Čudars) concert at Miera Street 17 courtyard.
