Rīga’s and Latvia’s Olympians and World Choir Olympiad Winners will be Honoured on Sunday on the Krastmala [River Bank]

The Latvian 2012 Summer Olympic team's sportsmen and sportswomen, as well as the coaches, and members of the "Latvian Voices" vocal group, who were the champions at this year's World Choir Olympiad will take to the big Festival stage on the 11. novembra krastmala at 9pm on Sunday, 19th August.

An Unprecedented Air Show – at Spilve and Above the Daugava

World famous aerobatic pilots, Svetlana Kapanina (Russia), Castor Fantoba (Spain) and Gerald Cooper (Great Britain), winners of untold numbers of World and European level competitions, will take part in the "Riga Freestyle Aerobatic Master Cup" Air Show, on Saturday 18th August from 12 midday until 5pm at "Spilve" Airport and on Sunday, 19th August from 3.15pm until 3.45pm above the Daugava in the section between the Vanšu Bridge and the Akmens Bridge.

All of Alberta Street will transform into an Art Nouveau museum during the Rīga Festival

During the Rīga Festival anyone can witness a once in a lifetime opportunity when, with the help of the Art Nouveau Museum, the clock gets turned back theatrically, musically and visually and we'll be able to meet on Alberta Street in 1912. This will take place from 12 midday until 6pm on the 18th August.

“Match of the Riverbanks” programme and NBA player’s press conference

On Saturday 18th August, and Sunday 19th August, the largest annual open-air 24 hour basketball tournament in the Baltics, the "Match of the Riverbanks" will take place in the square next to the Latvian National Opera (LNO). Politicians, actors and musicians, as well as both of Latvia's largest universities, wheelchair basketballers, former Latvian basketball greats and two time champion team "VEF Rīga" will be taking the court - almost 600 residents of Rīga in total.

Information Centres during the “Rīga Festival 2012”

Information tents will operate in the city at Dome Square by the LNMA Art Museum's Rīga Bourse building and by the Laima Clock during the Rīga Festival.
The Information tents will operate on 17th, 18th and 19th August from 10am until 10pm.
